Feature
A clipboard manager for everyday Mac work
Keep copied text, code, links, images, files, and colors within reach. Search your history, organize useful items, and paste them into your next task.
Keep useful copies beyond the next paste
Copy a link, then a paragraph, then an image. Frset keeps a history of those items so you can return to an earlier copy without reopening its source or searching for it again.
The clipboard manager recognizes text, code, links, images, files and folders, and color values. Each type has a suitable preview and relevant actions, making the history useful for writing, development, design, and everyday work between apps.
Find a copy by what you remember
Search an item's content, title, or custom alias. A phrase from a copied paragraph, part of a URL, or a name you gave a snippet can take you back to the item you need.
Type filters narrow the list to text, code, links, images, files, or colors. You can also view notes and results generated by Frset's tools, or filter by a tag to focus on a particular project.
With Screenshot search enabled, Frset also makes recognized words in saved Frset screenshots searchable after recognition finishes. That lets you find a screenshot by something written inside it. See Screenshot for more ways to work with image text.
Bring your clipboard to the app you are using
Use the main window to browse and organize your history, or open the floating clipboard panel with a configured shortcut while working in another app. Search and filter there, preview a result, and copy it back to the system clipboard.
Keyboard navigation keeps that workflow short: move between items with the arrow keys, use Space to preview, and press Return to reuse the selected item. The floating panel can stay on top when you need several items during the same task.
Preview the content, then choose the right action
Read longer text, inspect code and Markdown, view an image, or check a color before reusing it. Source app icons help you recognize where an item came from.
Actions follow the content you select:
- Open a copied link or turn it into a QR code.
- Open a file or reveal its location in Finder.
- Save an image, pin it on screen as a reference, annotate it, or extract its text.
- Edit supported text entries when a saved copy needs an update.
Reuse one item or several at once
Copy an individual item in its original format, or use Paste as Plain Text for text you want to insert without source formatting. Available rich text is preserved when using the original format, subject to what the destination app accepts.
Multi-select lets you copy or paste several history items together. Selected text entries are joined with line breaks, which is useful when collecting quotes, links, or short snippets. Images and files can also be included in a batch when the destination app supports their clipboard formats. You can add a tag to several items or delete a selection in the same way.
When Auto Paste is available in Settings, enable it and grant the required macOS Accessibility permission to paste directly into the target app. If the option is not shown or direct pasting is unavailable, copy the item in Frset, switch to the destination app, and press Command-V.
Give repeated content a place to stay
Add tags with names and colors to group items by project, client, or task. Give an item an alias such as "Support reply" or "Deployment command" so you can find it using a name that makes sense to you.
Create a note inside Frset for text you want to keep deliberately: a reusable reply, a checklist, or a code snippet you often need. Notes can be edited and found through their own filter, alongside the rest of your history.
Control what enters your history
Clipboard history is stored locally on your Mac. Pause recording when you need a break, and exclude selected apps so their copies are not added to history. You can set a retention period and storage limit, or clear history from settings. Available history and feature limits depend on your plan.
Optional online features, including translation and AI tools, have their own data flow. The Privacy Policy explains how those features handle submitted content.
Frequently asked questions
What can Frset keep in clipboard history?
Text, code, links, images, files and folders, and color values. You can also create notes for reusable text and revisit results from Frset's tools.
Can I find a screenshot by the words inside it?
Yes, for saved Frset screenshots that have completed text recognition. Enable Screenshot search in settings, then search for a word or phrase from the image.
Can I paste without the original formatting?
Use Paste as Plain Text for a supported text item or a selection of text items. Direct pasting requires the relevant macOS Accessibility permission.
Can I stop certain apps from appearing in history?
Yes. Add them to the excluded apps list in settings. You can also pause all clipboard recording and resume it when you are ready.
Can Frset recover a file that I moved or deleted?
File entries refer to the original file location. If a file is moved or deleted, its old history entry may no longer be usable.
