Privacy Policy

Overview
Frset is a macOS productivity toolkit built with privacy as a core principle. We firmly believe your data belongs only to you.
Data Collection
Frset is designed with a local-first approach. Your clipboard history, screenshots and annotations, color picker records, calendar content, preferences, and other content data processed by the app are stored on your device by default and are not uploaded to Frset's servers.
To improve the product experience, understand feature usage, and diagnose stability and performance issues, Frset collects limited product analytics and diagnostic data. This data does not include the content itself that you process in the app, such as clipboard text, screenshot images, annotation content, calendar event details, or raw content you enter into local tools.
Data Stored on Your Device
- Clipboard history and content, including content generated by Frset tools and saved in history
- Screenshots and annotations
- Color picker records
- Calendar and event data
- Application preferences
Usage Analytics
We collect usage analytics data to understand feature trends, continuously improve the experience, and assess release quality. This data may include:
- Anonymous installation identifier: We use a randomly generated UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) to distinguish different app installation instances. This identifier is used only for installation recognition, analytics deduplication, understanding product usage, and continuously improving the product experience. It is not associated with your real identity and cannot be traced back to hardware-specific information such as your serial number or MAC address.
- Device model, operating system version, and CPU architecture
- Application version and build number
- Language, region, and time zone
- Subscription status information (plan type, duration, etc.)
- Feature usage events (for example, whether screenshot, search, clipboard history, or a tool was used)
We use Mixpanel and PostHog to collect, store, and analyze this data.
Crash & Diagnostics
When Frset encounters crashes, errors, or performance issues, we collect the diagnostic data needed to investigate, improve stability, and optimize performance. This data may include:
- Crash stack traces and error information
- Application state and runtime environment details
- Device and operating system information
- Limited performance tracing information
- Diagnostics related to application request performance
We use Sentry to collect and analyze this crash and diagnostic data. We make reasonable efforts to avoid including directly identifying personal information in these records and redact certain sensitive path information.
Network Access
Frset only accesses the network in the following situations:
- Checking for application updates
- Fetching application configuration or service-related information
- Using the network monitoring feature
- Sending product analytics data and crash/diagnostic data
- Using AI features
- Using Quick Search or other network-dependent external services
Other than when you actively use the network-dependent features above, Frset does not proactively upload the content data you process locally.
Please note that when you actively use AI features, the content you enter will be sent to the third-party AI provider you choose and processed under that provider's privacy policy and terms. Please do not submit passwords, API keys, business secrets, or other sensitive personal information through these requests.
When you actively use Quick Search or other external network-dependent features, the content you submit may also be sent to the relevant third-party provider and processed under that provider's privacy policy and terms. Please avoid sending information you do not want to disclose.
Third-Party Services
Frset does not integrate any third-party advertising services. Other than the analytics and diagnostic providers described above, and the external services you intentionally use through features such as AI tools and Quick Search, Frset does not proactively disclose the local content data you process to third parties. Data you choose to send to those external services will be handled according to the applicable provider's privacy policy and terms.
Cookies
Neither the Frset website nor the application uses any cookies.
Data Security
Your content data remains on your device and is protected by macOS system security mechanisms, including FileVault encryption and Gatekeeper. Frset follows Apple's App Sandbox guidelines to ensure data isolation and security. Your API keys for AI services are stored securely only in the local macOS Keychain, protected by system-level encryption, and are not uploaded to any servers.
Children's Privacy
Frset does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. This application is a general productivity tool for all users and is not designed for children.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
